Informed Sport has reached the landmark of 500 certified sports supplements products.
The globally-recognised programme now provides banned substance testing for 116 brands from 16 countries, and is set to welcome a significant number of new products into the Informed Sport family in the coming months.
“The growth of Informed Sport has been extremely encouraging, for athletes, for sport and for the general consumer,” said Terence O’Rorke, Business Sector Director. “Informed Sport works closely with the supplements industry, with the global anti-doping community and with sport, and continues to provide a service that successfully minimises the risk of contamination.
“All the signs indicate that it will continue to attract more brands and establish itself in new territories as the global industry continues to raise levels of quality assurance.”
Informed Sport was created in 2008 with the support of UK Anti-Doping. LGC analyses approximately 13,000 samples a year at its anti-doping laboratories in the USA (Lexington, Kentucky) and UK (Newmarket).
