As the summer event circuit officially begins, INFORMED officially started off the season with a month full of events across the globe.
Between the 2024 CSCCa National Conference, Vitafoods Europe 2024, and the CPSDA 16th Annual Conference, six INFORMED team members from across the globe were able to join a total of 22,500 attendees, 1,400 exhibitors (25 of which were INFORMED certified), and listen to more than 150 speakers.
To start the month off, four US-based members of the INFORMED team made the trek down to Fort Worth, TX to attend the 2024 CSCCa National Conference. May 6-8 we were able to speak with members of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association about the benefits of third-party supplement testing.
"We enjoy a great partnership with [CSCCa], as they are one of the top professional organizations for sports dietitians and sports performance coaches," Business Development Manager Rob Graf said.
Along with having a booth at the event, we were also able to co-host the Master Coaches Reception on opening night, and address the room full of hundreds of elite performance coaches. In addition to our booth, six INFORMED certified companies were also in attendance spreading awareness of their certifications.
The following week we were able to represent the brand on the other side of the globe, as two of our UK-based team members were in attendance for Vitafoods Europe 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland on May 14-15.
"Though we didn't have a booth at this year's event, [Vitafoods Europe] is a great opportunity to connect with brands who are also visiting the show," Carla Devlin, Senior Strategic Account Manager for INFORMED, said. "This is the last year Vitafoods will be held in Geneva, next year it's set for Barcelona, and the whole nutraceutical community is excited about the new location."
Vitafoods Europe is one of the largest events INFORMED attends, with over 20,000 attendees, 1,100+ exhibitors, and attendees visiting from more than 160 countries. Having attended since 2010, INFORMED no longer hosts a booth at this event, but Senior Business Development Manager Terence O'Rorke was able to speak to a group of attendees through his presentation "How Best to Minimise Risk of Contamination with Substances Banned in Sport". The presentation provided key insights on how the sports and active nutrition industry can tackle the issue of inadvertent doping. He also explained the risks for businesses in the sector and what the industry is doing to raise the levels of quality assurance for its products, as well as the testing and certification programs available to sports and active nutrition companies.
The final stop on our May event road trip brought three of our US-based members to the CPSDA 16th Annual Conference, May 19-22 in Kansas City, MO. A much more intimate crowd than the likes of Vitafoods Europe, CPSDA gave our teammates the ability to once again hold down a booth and spread awareness of third-party supplement testing to members of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dieticians Association.
"CPSDA was by far the largest and most well attended in recent memory," Business Development Manager Andrew Holmes said "It is by far the premier conference to attend to learn from some of the top Sports Performance Dieticians in the world. It was a honor to attend and speak to many of them regarding the robustness and expanse of LGC's anti-doping certification program Informed Sport.
With May officially in the rearview mirror, we now move onto another month of events, as we'll be speaking at the U.S. Department of Defense Food and Nutrition Subcommittee (FNSC) & Dietary Supplements and Other Self-Care Products Subcommittee (DSSC) joint meeting on June 4-6 in Bethesda, MD, and hosting a booth at the ISSN 21st Annual Conference and Expo in Bonita Springs, FL June 18-20.
